We are delighted to inform you that cjm music are returning to the diocese to deliver the ‘Big Sing Liturgy Thing’ in January 2018. Due to their being in demand, we were unable to secure a booking with cjm music last year so, after a two-year break, we’re very pleased to be able to offer two dates this year.
The first event will take place in Middlesbrough at St Mary’s Cathedral on 24 January. The second event will take place the following day, in Hull, 25 January at St. Richard’s V.C. Academy.
Members of the cjm music’s team have designed the ‘Big Sing Liturgy Thing’ as a feast of music, song, prayer, sign-language dance & liturgy. The format is borne out of more than 20 years’ experience leading music and liturgy in a variety of settings, with people of all ages. The objective is to give young people an experience of vibrant, dynamic worship. But it is more than a ‘jamboree’ of song, and draws on cjm music’s understanding and experience of the liturgical tradition and contemporary liturgical music. The event involves a full band, two dancers, audio-visual presentation, a full lighting and PA system that will transform the venues for the day.
The event is aimed at KS2 children and will best benefit Y4, Y5 and Y6. Arrival is from 10am and the event itself begins at 10.30am. Packed lunches are required by all participants and the event ends at 2.15pm.
The cost of the event is £7 per child. The deadline for bookings is 8 December 2017. Each venue has a limited capacity and we endeavor to process bookings in the order we receive them. However, once venue capacity has been reached, we will be unable to accept any more bookings. Bookings will be confirmed through email and invoices will be issued post event. Unfortunately we will not be able to offer refunds for booked places that go unused.
